Email or Text message?

Does anyone interested in about oversea's internet for mobile phones?
I used to using a mobile phone while i was in UK.
UK is also has internet service for mobile phones such as Japan.
Mobile phones in UK is also able to use Google to search anything, but I think they should change text message system to normal E-mail.
Using text message is only able to type 50 to 100 letters, on the other hand, E-mail can type a lot!!! and won'nt cost that much......
If I still kept using mobile phone in UK, I'd love to have anE-mail system(this is not connect to Google and Yahoo, like Japanese mobile phones)
